Cheddar Cheese Lovers

Ingredient:
5 oz Cheddar; Sharp, Grated
1 tb Baking Powder
2 c Unbleached Flour; Sifted
1/2 c Milk Butter; Softened Butter; Melted
1/2 c Butter Or Shortening
1 ts Salt
How To …
Grease the bottom of 12 muffin pan cups. Grate cheese in a bowl, if not already grated and set aside. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives, until the mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Make a well in center of mixture and add the milk all at once. Stir with a fork until the dough forms a ball. Delicately form the dough into a ball and place it on a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly with your fingertips 10 or 15 times. Roll out the dough into a 12 x 10-inch rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. 5 Cut into strips and spread softened butter. Sprinkle with the four strips of grated cheddar cheese and stack four each other and on top of the fifth band. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place on the end of muffin cups. Brush tops of rolls with melted butter. Bake at 450 º F for 10 to 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden. Serve hot with butter. Makes 1 dozen cheddar Fans. This bread recipes could be used for four people.
